Former Cannon Falls Wrestler Levi Price earns All-American Honors at the NAIA National Wrestling Championships held in Oklahoma City, OK.
Price, a senior from Cannon Falls, Minn. and 2008 All-American, went 4-3 at the championships and finished eighth at 149-pounds. He split Thursday’s matches, recording an 11-1 major decision win in the opener over Andy Schoultz (Cumberland) but losing to Trace Billet (Embry-Riddle) 4-3. In Friday’s wrestlebacks, Price needed just 46 seconds to defeat Dan Hutcheson of Dakota Wesleyan and followed with wins over Willie Shelton-Delk of Oklahoma City (11-3) and Jimmy Eggenmeyer of Southern Oregon (6-5). Price then lost to Ashtin Primus (Notre Dame), who finished third, by fall and then faced Billet again for seventh place, falling 10-4. Price closes his Red Raider career as the all-time leader in wins.

Chad Otterness has compiled individual Greco and Freestyle results at the regional and national levels going all the way back to 1978. His eyes and fingers may be tired (as were mine after transcribing them all) but the effort expended by our tireless wrestlers is well worth the time we take to record them.

As of this post, the WordPress blog software has been upgraded from 2.0.4 to 2.8.2 – quite a jump. However, we needed to clean out the old databases and take advantage of the new security features since we have attracted the attention of too many prescription drug spammers who were trying to add their marketing links invisibly to the ends of our posts. (Sports is big business, I suppose.)
